The key figures at a glance
- Energy price: Hungarian household prices are converging towards the EU average — realistically double today's level by 2045; the running costs of an average house rise from ~HUF 324,000 to ~HUF 1 million a year.
- Regulation (EPBD): from 2030 every new building must be near-zero energy; from 2040 smart metering and control is expected to become mandatory.
- Value advantage: the premium of a consciously built house is realistically +15–18% by 2045, which means +HUF 25–50 million on 100 m².
- Health: properties with a healthy indoor environment already sell for 8–12% more today.
The detailed derivations are in the downloadable materials — and the seven decisions are explained on their own page.
2030
In the EU, every new building must be near-zero energy. The question is not whether it becomes mandatory — it is whether you build before or after.
Near-zero energy demand for every new building
Smart metering and control expected to become mandatory
Energy prices at twice today’s level — the value advantage of a future-proof house is +15–18%
